Nautical Nana: Sea Witch Centered

A Boutique Hotel Moodboard from the Deep

If Cath Kidston moved into an oceanside manor and invited Isabel López-Quesada to redecorate—after both of them spent a weekend channeling their inner sea witches—this is what the lobby might look like.

Nautical Nana: Sea Witch Centered is a maximalist love letter to all things coastal, crustacean, and just a little uncanny. Picture oversized florals blooming out of clam shells, high-drama fireplaces wrapped in veined marble, and windows so tall you can hear the salt wind whistle through them.

The Concept

This AI-generated visual concept was born from a fascination with comfort-forward storytelling—spaces that feel theatrical, tactile, and unapologetically personal. It’s part grandmillennial fantasy, part cabana-side fever dream. Grotto meets garden party. Neptune meets Nancy Meyers.

Design Notes

  • Heirloom brass fixtures and nautical cabana stripes root the design in tradition

  • Oversized windows and cinematic daylight fill the space with warmth

  • Seashell-shaped sofas and floral arrangements in shell vases evoke fantasy and softness

  • White oak herringbone floors offer a grounding texture

  • Lobster motifs, airy linens, and pink velvet accents round out the mischief

Why AI?

This concept was prototyped using generative AI as part of my creative development workflow. Tools like Midjourney allow me to experiment with composition, scale, and texture quickly—freeing up more time to focus on story, style, and sensory design.

Coastal Nostalgia, Reimagined

The result? A boutique hotel lobby that’s both decadent and deeply human. You walk in and feel hugged—by the light, the fabrics, and the storytelling. It’s a space that honors the sea and the sofa nap.

Maximalist coastal comfort, with just a touch of old money mermaid.
Stay tuned for the guest rooms. 🐙✨
