An Orange Oasis
A Midjourney-Assisted Creative Exploration by Ruthie Kohrman

There’s something about citrus—especially the humble clementine—that feels like joy in its purest form. An Orange Oasis began as a playful design experiment and quickly evolved into a lifestyle campaign concept rooted in color, comfort, and sunshine.
This personal project is part of my ongoing exploration into AI-assisted visual storytelling, using Midjourney to bring early-stage art direction concepts to life. I wanted to build a world that celebrates citrus through a soft, maximalist lens—part dream sequence, part farmhouse fantasy, part pop-up picnic ad.
The Concept
This campaign imagines a product-forward brand world where oranges and clementines become both the subject and the setting. The visual tone is certainly bold, warm and whimsically modern—but deeply nostalgic and a bit of a fever dream. Think:
Clay-toned textiles
Terra-cotta tilework
Whimsical still life vignettes featuring fruit-studded desserts, printed linens, and glass pitchers of infused water
Cozy sunrooms, citrus crates, gingham pillows, and cheeky packaging concepts that feel both chic and childlike
What I Explored
Product styling for soft goods like bed linens and pool towels
Midjourney-generated interiors and sets that channel a light-filled citrus grove with curated, editorial textures
Color palette development built around bold oranges, desert reds, buttercream, and blush
A sense of ease and approachability that still reads as high-design
Why AI?
Midjourney allowed me to quickly test out layout ideas, casting inspiration, and set concepts without the limits of a traditional photoshoot. This isn’t a replacement for hands-on production—it’s a visual brainstorming tool I now use to push creative thinking in early concept stages.
Why Oranges?
Because they’re beautiful. Because they smell like home. Because they remind me that design doesn’t have to be loud to be memorable—it just has to make you feel something.

An Orange Oasis is part of my larger creative mission: to craft visual narratives that feel like a hug, that invite you in, and that linger in your memory the way warm citrus lingers on your fingertips.
If you’re building a brand in food & beverage, interiors, or editorial lifestyle, and want visuals that marry strategy with softness, I’d love to connect.
